"Just simply: WOW" 2010-02-17

I have owned a few digital cameras over the last 10 years. It is hard to directly compare, since the D90 is by far more expensive. However, it is worth every dollar. The features and picture quality are outstanding. My research of on-line reviews and professional opinions have panned out with my personal experience. If the cost is in your budget -- this is the camera. If it is a few Hundred more than your budget -- Spend the extra, don't compromise with something less for 20 perceent. If you are a novice or experienced and want the very best in picture quality this is the camera. I have only used the HD video once to sample, and it was as good as any cable TV HD. The D90 is capable (with the right size Memory) of taking 5 mins increments of HD video. For my use, this is more than sufficient, so I won't need a separate video camera. Connection to the TV is simple by connecting a mini HDMI to HDMI cable to a TV input for video play back or still slide show. I am glad I spent the extra 20 percent -- you will be also!!

"The best camera ever for 1K budget" 2010-02-16

If you love photography and if you think your are better than a beginner level or atleast know something about photography...Nikon D90 is your next step.
This is all the good features packed in one camera...Nikon D90 is considered as the medium level camera but probably offers everything a camera should offer. I have heard my friends talking about their camera have around 15.1 mega pixels but 12 is more than enough. You can still blow the image to a big poster size without any distortion.
It is slightly expensive but when you start taking pictures, it is totally worth it.
I would recommend this camera to anyone who is passionate about photography and doesnt have a lot of money to spend on a professional camera....
Lastly, I would recommend buying it from Amazon.com since they offer the best price in the current market.

"Nikon D90 review" 2010-02-16

Have had the camera now for 3 weeks and absolutely love it. A relative had the exact model and got several pictures that I missed with my regular point and shoot at a recent family event.
Its easy to use, balanced in hand, and the pictures come out great. I'm really excited to get artistic and do some cool portraits with the kids, black and whites, etc.
Only one problem occured, at a recent event where I had already taken about 100 pictures and several videos, when I turned it on nothing would come up, no buttons worked. Just flashed f--- on the screen. I gave it 10seconds and tried again and it worked after that. Maybe it was getting too hot.
Anyway, its fun and easy to use. I'd buy another one, just have to do some research on forums to find out what that error was.

"First DSLR - Great!" 2010-02-13

I am a long time Nikon user/fan but have held off spending the bucks for DSLR. I became interested in digital photography and using a Canon point/shoot have taken some decent pix but adjustments are cumbersome. My grandson shares my love of photography and has a D-90 so when I began looking he recommended it. After much research I bought the kit from Amazon and have not been disappointed.
I also bought David Busch's users guide to make things easier and I recommend it. Controls are well laid out and within a few days I was able to set up for all kinds of shooting from indoor still life and portraits to outdoors and moving subjects. Being familiar with manual camera operation, I found the D-90 a snap to set up. The many preset auto settings cover most point and shoot situations quite well and I fine tune those as necessary. The kind of shooting I do suits the kit lens although I am able to use several of my older manual focus (Al)lenses. I do plan to get some faster single glass for portraits in low natural light
This machine takes photos in places so dark that I can barely see the subject and using raw files allows for infinite adjustment of the pix. This is a lot of camera for the buck. Probably not for the average snapshot folks but for us non-pros who want control of the camera it is ideal. It's been 3 months and several hundred exposures and I'm very pleased.

This was an upgrade for me and I never regretted the purchase. I have shot weddings, family photo's, and individual shots with this professionally and I have been totally happy with it.
